Last night, some of us took part in history. Today, we are all a part of history.
You don't need to like him, but he is our President-Elect. Not mine. Ours.
As I watched McCain give the most gracious of concession speeches I couldn't help but wonder why his supporters booed every time McCain mentioned Obama. When I saw that all I could think of is when Obama mentions McCain no one would boo, and what happened? Exactly that. Nothing, in fact, some people cheered and applauded for the race that McCain ran.
Obama is a regular guy in many respects, he has a tough job on his hands to lead the country through all the various issues we're going through right now. But I can see he being everything those who voted for him thought he would be.
I am proud to be an American again. For a long time I was ashamed of the way other countries looked at us, because of our Cowboy-esque President, for our holier-than-thou approach, for not being that land of opportunity. Change we can believe in isn't just a tagline, it's a fact. This country needed change and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.
