Steve

The Welker deal looks like the Pats are offering 7 years $38 million??? That sounds crazy to me so they must really like Welker and think he can get better. Last season was really his only season as a WR getting a good amount of playing time. He was always a return guy and a good one at that. But that money above seems insane for him. But I would be happy to land Welker regardless of what they want to pay him. The 2nd round pick they would lose to get Welker sounds like the 60th pick in the draft. Debatable whether all that is worth Welker, but I think the value is in his return game as well as WR. If he was just a straight WR, don't think the Pats would be doing this.

I also heard the Pats could be in on trying to land Donnie Edwards who isn't being talked about much for some odd reason. If the Pats land Edwards, they may as well just give the Pats the Super Bowl trophy right now!
