EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The NFL has wrapped up its investigation into allegations that Brett Favre sent inappropriate phone messages and photos to a Jets game hostess two years ago, the woman's attorney said Wednesday.
The biggest question that hasn't been asked from anyone in the media that I have read is "Why now?" Why didn't Jenn Sterger come forward two years ago? Why come forward the very week that Brett Favre was slated to play his old team? Doesn't that seem odd to anyone?
Fast forward to the investigation being complete. It's been complete. For a couple weeks now. And yet...nothing. Goodell hasn't said boo. Why? Is he waiting for an injury to end Favre's streak? Is he waiting for the end of the season or very close to it to just say the results are inconclusive or just fine him? Or wait until he retires?
It's all a bit odd, isn't it?
And yet...no one seems to care. Personally I could not care any less what happened. No one does, do they?
